This feed broadcasts railroad transmissions in the Atlanta terminal and covers the road and dispatch channels of CSX and Norfolk Southern. The feed is based near Howell Wye, just west of Midtown Atlanta. Scanned radio frequencies are 160.275, 160.740, 160.905, 160.950, 160.965, 160.230, 160.335, and 161.100 MHz.
This feed covers the road and dispatch channels of Norfolk Southern and CSX in the Atlanta terminal.
This stereo feed consists of two Motorola Maxtrac VHF radios. The antenna is a homebuilt j-pole tuned to the railroad band.
The right channel covers Norfolk Southern road AAR 59 (160.950) and dispatcher AAR 9 and 48 (160.245 and 160.830) used in Shelby and North Chilton Counties, Alabama area. It also covers the road frequency AAR 54 (160.920) used by the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum for train operations.
The left channel consists of CSX's road frequency AAR 84 (161.370) and dispatcher AAR 74 (161.220).

For CSX, the feed covers a train's communications as far south as Loachapoka and as far north as Cusseta. There is one defect detector located close to the house at the 114.4-mile post that the feed will pick up for every passing train covering train speed, length, axle count. It will pick up two to three dispatcher towers which expend the coverage of the feed greatly. For Norfolk Southern, the feed will pick up as far west as Gold Hill (Ridge) and east as far as Royal City. I occasionally pick up the defect detector at Stonewall and rarely at Royal City. The M&M Subdivision runs from Montgomery, Alabama south to Mobile, Alabama. The CSX Montgomery Yard is part of the M&M Subdivision, as is the Prattville Branch to Prattville, Alabama.
The S&NA South Subdivision runs from Montgomery, Alabama north to Parkwood Junction (south of Birmingham. The S&NA South Subdivision begins at the north end of the Montgomery Yard.
The A&WP Subdivision runs from Montgomery, Alabama to Atlanta, Georgia. Chester Yard in Montgomery is part of A&WP Subdivision.
The Selma Subdivision runs from Montgomery to the Sabic Innovative Plastics plant in Burkville. The plant was formerly GE Plastics. The Meridian & Bigbee Railroad has trackage rights over the Selma Subdivision to Montgomery, where the M&B interchanges with CSX.
The Dothan Subdivision runs from Montgomery, Alabama to Thomasville, Georgia.

The setup for this feed is a Motorola Maxtrac radio and a homebuilt copper J-Pole antenna. The server is a Raspberry Pi 2 using an iMac with the Broadcastify image.

Normally rivals, the Norfolk Southern and CSX join forces in Decatur to cross the mighty Tennessee River. Although the bridge is owned by NS, it actually sees more CSX traffic per day than it does Thoroughbred traffic. Decatur is on the Memphis to Chattanooga NS route and the Nashville to Birmingham CSX route. Both CSX and NS have medium sized yards here for interchange traffic and local industry. Local industries served by rail in Decatur vary from chemical plants to pet food manufacturing, almost all of which are located along the river.
