Klamath Falls, OR to Tacoma, WA - Trainhopping The I-5 Corridor

The delays Stobe, Wingman, and I had experienced over the previous three days put Wingman far enough behind schedule that it seemed very unlikely that he'd make it back home in time for his wife's birthday. Instead of riding he opted to have his wife pick him up in Klamath Falls since it would take less time than waiting until dark for the arrival of the Z-LCBR. Eli, Abigail, and I said our goodbyes to Wingman and we spent the rest of the morning resupplying and re-hydrating while we charged our phones at a very conveniently placed outlet on the porch of the Walmart. There are three things that make life tolerable for me: freight trains, Chinese buffets, and Walmart Supercenters...with the Klamath Falls location being the best Walmart I've visited anywhere in the country. That afternoon the three of us left the comfort and shade of the Walmart porch and headed to the swampy catch out at the south end of the Union Pacific yard to wait for the hottest train on the I-5 corridor.
